Two Felony Drug Charges Earn Summerville Woman PR Bond

Just before 12 AM on 16 January 2019, a thirty-year-old Summerville woman was arrested on three charges — two receiving personal recognizance bond.

Heather Colon-Vega was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center on counts of Shoplifting <$2000.00, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Controlled Substances Schedule I-IV. The former charge was given $1,000.00 bond amount.

Upon validation with the SC Judicial Department’s court records, Ms. Colon-Vega was granted personal recognizance bond on her two felony charges by Judge Priscilla Baldwin.

The priority to provide PR to felonies in regularity over reasonable charges (Simple Possession of Marijuana, DUS) should be puzzling to the average reader.

If only Charleston’s judiciary were elected by the people, perhaps this issue could be evaded. The corruption must end in our city.

  1. First of all innocent until proven guilty so jump the fuck off your high horse and mind your damn business. We are in a age where the police are just as dirty as the criminals if not worse but for the most part they are believed over a civilian 10 out of 10 times no matter if they are lying. Seems like part of there job is to fabricate BS to initiate contact and we will go with it smells like weed in here for probable cause no matter if it’s true or not.
